"kaitlin"

When I hear my name it means that it's time to grab my dad's hand and start dancing. Sometimes it means I have to put down my phone and do something productive. When I'm with my friends and I hear my name it's usually followed by "stop being weird!" and a grin or a look that tells me to be quiet.
My name comes from both my mom and my dad. My dad's name is Felino and my mom's name is Kathy. So my name turned out to be Kaitlin. I would've turned out to be a Natalie but that didn't really have any special meaning to my mom or dad. When I was younger, I didn't really like the way my name was spelled but now I like how different it is.

if i worked at school...

I never really saw myself working at a school, but if I was forced to work at school, I think my job would be a Kindergarten teacher.
I'm pretty good with little kids and I have a lot of patience. I think I would be really good at setting a good example for them, Kindergartners are children that are just starting to learn, so I would love to be apart of shaping their minds.
I wouldn't want to teach an older grade because I can't take myself seriously, so I can't imagine older children taking me seriously.

grateful heart

It's November. The holidays are coming up and the temperatures are going down. I'm on my couch, Christmas music playing, thinking of things I'm thankful for.

-
my mom ♥ she's the strongest person I know and she always knows how to put a smile on my face.
my friends ♥ they can always make me laugh.
my brother ♥ he's my annoying forever friend
food ♥ it's really good !!
a home ♥ a warm and happy place to go to after a long day.
colors ♥ imagine if we only could see in black and white!
music ♥ music can either hype me up or calm me down, I always have to have music on.
Netflix ♥ for helping me relax
books ♥ for giving me imagination

Sometimes I take some of these things for granted and I really shouldn't. I'm thankful for a lot of other items too, not just these. But you shouldn't take things for granted because other people might not have what you have. Be thankful. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

food, not so glorious food

Growing up I didn't like trying new types of foods. I never had anything that looked "weird". My mom struggled to get me to try some types of traditional Asian food.
One day my mom took my brother and I to an "Asian" buffet. I don't remember the name but I know it wasn't authentic. One of the trays had a bunch of French fries. We all got into a booth and my mom and my brother left first to get their food. I stayed behind to watch all our stuff. While they were gone I stayed seated and looked around the place, there were lots of people so it was pretty loud. There were also paintings of flowers and nature.
Once my brother and mom came back, I got up to get some food. I looked around and found a sushi bar. I filled my plate with sushi and went back to my booth. Sushi, in my opinion, is the best. My mom looked over at me and gave me a look, I always get sushi. My mom wanted me to try these things that looked like chicken wings. Looked like chicken wings. They were not chicken wings. They turned out to be frog legs. Frog legs. After I put it in my mouth and started chewing my mom told me that I had just tried frog legs. I screamed but the restaurant was pretty loud so the only people that really heard me were the ones in the booth next to me. I tried spitting out the frog legs into a napkin but my mom took them away. She looked me in the eyes and said "Swallow it." I've never trusted my mom with food after that. I will never eat frog legs ever again, but I have to admit, it really does taste like chicken.

I would put a picture but I wouldn't want a picture of frog legs on my blog. ☺

childhood favorite

When I was younger I used to drink Yakult all the time. It was like this small Asian drink for kids. Yakult was and still is one of my favorite Asian drinks. I would drink it all the time and I wouldn't be upset whenever we ran out of it. One day I took one bottle out of the fridge. I had a hard time taking out the cover and when I did, half the drink spilled everywhere. This happened a lot. Every time that I drank Yakult I would always put the opening around my lips. I didn't realize it but it was slowly making a line around my lips. I drank a lot of Yakult, whenever I finished it I would put it around my lips and keep it there. I did this for a very long long long time and you can still see the line on my lips. And it's been there ever since.

trip to thailand

One of my favorite trips to Thailand was my fifth time going there. It took about twenty-four hours to get there. I went with my mom and my brother to go visit my grandma and my aunt. Our first flight was to Tokyo, Japan. That trip took about fifteen hours and we had to wait three hours to board our connecting flight. My family and I decided to look around the airport. There was a bunch of Asian candies, toys, and beauty products. After three long hours of waiting we finally got to board our plane.
If you ever been on a plane that didn't have those little screen things that let you play games and watch movies that really must've sucked. I played about 3 different movies, skipping to the end for some of them, until I fell asleep. Six hours later we landed. Since it was really cold on the plane I wore sweatpants and a hoodie, but since I didn't plan ahead, I didn't have any t-shirt to change into once we got off the plane. It was super hot once I got off the plane. We landed about midnight and we greeted my grandma, my aunt, and their driver, Pinoy. Thankfully, there was air conditioning on the way back to my grandma's condo. Jet lag wasn't a thing that bothered me. My mom and my brother were really tired but they stayed awake for the best part of landing. Noodle Soup. My grandma lives on a street that has a noodle cart at the edge of the street.
We stayed there for three weeks and we did a lot of things:
Phuket, Thailand
 Bangkok, Thailand

Krabi, Thailand
Elephant Riding

quote

I like this quote because everyone has hard times but we always come back better and stronger. Like a glow stick, we all break but after we break everything becomes brighter. A lot of people go through hard times but it always turns out better in the end.
