grateful heart

It's November. The holidays are coming up and the temperatures are going down. I'm on my couch, Christmas music playing, thinking of things I'm thankful for.

-
my mom ♥ she's the strongest person I know and she always knows how to put a smile on my face.
my friends ♥ they can always make me laugh.
my brother ♥ he's my annoying forever friend
food ♥ it's really good !!
a home ♥ a warm and happy place to go to after a long day.
colors ♥ imagine if we only could see in black and white!
music ♥ music can either hype me up or calm me down, I always have to have music on.
Netflix ♥ for helping me relax
books ♥ for giving me imagination

Sometimes I take some of these things for granted and I really shouldn't. I'm thankful for a lot of other items too, not just these. But you shouldn't take things for granted because other people might not have what you have. Be thankful. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

food, not so glorious food

Growing up I didn't like trying new types of foods. I never had anything that looked "weird". My mom struggled to get me to try some types of traditional Asian food.
One day my mom took my brother and I to an "Asian" buffet. I don't remember the name but I know it wasn't authentic. One of the trays had a bunch of French fries. We all got into a booth and my mom and my brother left first to get their food. I stayed behind to watch all our stuff. While they were gone I stayed seated and looked around the place, there were lots of people so it was pretty loud. There were also paintings of flowers and nature.
Once my brother and mom came back, I got up to get some food. I looked around and found a sushi bar. I filled my plate with sushi and went back to my booth. Sushi, in my opinion, is the best. My mom looked over at me and gave me a look, I always get sushi. My mom wanted me to try these things that looked like chicken wings. Looked like chicken wings. They were not chicken wings. They turned out to be frog legs. Frog legs. After I put it in my mouth and started chewing my mom told me that I had just tried frog legs. I screamed but the restaurant was pretty loud so the only people that really heard me were the ones in the booth next to me. I tried spitting out the frog legs into a napkin but my mom took them away. She looked me in the eyes and said "Swallow it." I've never trusted my mom with food after that. I will never eat frog legs ever again, but I have to admit, it really does taste like chicken.

I would put a picture but I wouldn't want a picture of frog legs on my blog. ☺
